Some things just go together. Country and Western, Rock N Roll, Think Tank Brew Lab and SC Venue Crisis… Ok. That may not be familiar as the others, but here’s one that you need to be aware of. Beer and Napkins.

Last week, a group of thinkers joined forces at Think Tank Brew Lab in Greenville for a brewstorming session. Before you ask yourself, “what the cuss?” I’ll let the Beer and Napkins founder and CEO, Phil McCreight, explain.

“How can we, as a united community of citizens, businesses, and artists, leverage our shared experiences, values, and passion for music and the arts to engage more people and foster collective responsibility in addressing the SC Venue Crisis? How can we collaboratively create and implement innovative solutions to promote responsible drinking, reduce liability insurance rates, support local music venues and bars, and drive positive legislative changes?”

This was the “wicked” design challenge we tackled last night at @thinktankbrewlab in collaboration with the @scvenuecrisis team. A diverse team of concerned community members, musicians, creatives, insurance leaders, and venue owners came together to explore innovative ideas through our Brewstorming. The dialogue and learning alone was an incredible step forward.

Besides the collaboration of these communities of design coming together and presenting their ideas, the highlights of the evening were @biobrewer of @carolinabauernhausgvl bringing his lederhosen strong game, @thinktankbrewlab ‘s Cold Porter, and witnessing the massively talented @kmorrilldesign crank out a splendid series of graphic recordings of the event. Thank you all who attended. If you would like for @beerandnapkins host a design challenge brewstorming event for your wicked problem don’t hesitate to reach out to us. #brewstorming #thirdplaceideas

We are immensely grateful for the time and effort put in by Phil, Pamela Wood Browne (Women Who Code), and Ryan Kurlfink at Think Tank Brew Lab. Follow Beer and Napkins on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Then, get involved where you can. They may need your brain power at their next community design event.
